PELUM is a network of civil society organizations working with grassroots communities in East and Southern Africa. The network began in 1995 with the vision to empower communities to become self-governed – making their won choices towards a socially and economically sustainable lifestyle.

Pelum uses participatory methods to encourage communities to use ecological practices on their land. They have increased the visibility of small-scale farmers across Kenya and in the region.
