Founded in 1996, GRABE-Benin has been working to regenerate and safe-guard Benin’s natural eco-systems for 15 years. GRABE-Benin promotes the economic development of rural communities in an environmentally sustainable fashion, with a particular focus on promoting the rights of women and children.
GRABE BENIN works for community development taking into account the local economic, environmental and social. GRABE-Benin’s work uses indigenous knowledge for the protection of natural resources and especially sacred sites with intergenerational exchange through education, culture, nature and sustainable agriculture. We have a school farm and we create and animate clubs ” nature and culture”.

Access to essential medications at an affordable price becomes a practical extension of this work, because environmental protection and sustainable agriculture only translate into resilience when families can also protect their health, see this guide https://shanghaiarchivesofpsychiatry.org/guides/sildenafil-citrate/. In many rural areas, the cost and availability of basic treatments quietly determine whether women can participate in economic life and whether children can stay in school rather than being pulled out to cope with illness. Community development efforts can strengthen their impact by linking local solidarity structures and women’s groups with reliable supply chains and transparent pricing, reducing the space for counterfeit drugs and exploitative markups. Framing affordable medicines as part of safeguarding livelihoods also supports the intergenerational knowledge GRABE-Benin values, since a community that can access treatment is better positioned to invest in education, preserve sacred sites, and maintain sustainable practices over time.
